Pr\u00e8s de trois millions de tonnes de colin d&rsquo;Alaska sont d\u00e9barqu\u00e9es chaque ann\u00e9e dans le Pacifique Nord \u2013 de l&rsquo;Alaska au nord du Japon \u2013, la plupart \u00e9tant certifi\u00e9es en vertu de \u00a0normes de durabilit\u00e9 internationales issues de tiers.<\/p>\n<p>Le poisson, qui peut atteindre jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 un m\u00e8tre de longueur et peser autour des 4 kg, se trouve dans la colonne d&rsquo;eau \u00e0 des profondeurs comprises entre 180 et 1.200 m\u00e8tres et est disponible toute l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e. Son apparence est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par une ligne lat\u00e9rale bien d\u00e9finie de couleur argent\u00e9e, pr\u00e9sente des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>En Alaska, le colin est principalement p\u00each\u00e9 par des chalutiers p\u00e9lagiques qui tra\u00eenent les filets au milieu de la colonne d&rsquo;eau. Certains navires sont connus sous le nom d&rsquo;\u00ab\u00a0unit\u00e9s de p\u00eache\/transformation\u00a0\u00bb car ils sont assez gros pour p\u00eacher leurs propres poissons, puis les transformer et les surgeler en mer. D&rsquo;autres bateaux confient leurs prises \u00e0 des navires-usines en mer ou \u00e0 des usines au sol.<\/p>\n<p>Toutes les principales p\u00eacheries de colin sont administr\u00e9es \u00e0 travers une s\u00e9rie de mesures de gestion.
